Job Description

The Field Engineer will deploy, install and maintain servers, routers, edge switches, telecommunication systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware in support of customer operations. This is a fast-paced program that requires someone who works well in a dynamic environment.The Field Engineer is responsible for procedural input to the planning, preparation, and execution of all projects. Responsible for the technical direction, leadership and training of less experienced staff. Must have the ability to complete complex assignments without direction and direct those engineers that are more junior.Key Responsibilities:Perform the physical setup and configuration of desktop hardware and software to include external peripherals that may be required.Troubleshoot network connectivity issuesInstall applicable equipment (with racks if needed)Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineersInstall and connect applicable cablesCoordinate pick-up and delivery of equipmentTroubleshoot desktop and network anomalies and contact the appropriate groups for additional supportServe as technical liaison between the site and the appropriate technical business area for resolution of IT issues and system upgradesBuild workstations per established proceduresManage software and hardware support as neededMaintain access control by creating new user accounts, maintain existing accounts and troubleshoot user login or access issuesMonitor server activities and provide technical support that requires expert knowledge using advanced technical principlesMaintain operational status of all phone systemsAfter hours response/resolution for technical issuesRequired Qualifications:Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; or if no degree, 8-10 years of related experience performing engineering functions on programs of similar size, scope and complexity8+ years as an engineer supporting technical programsExperience in IP Related Services: TCP/IPExperience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switchesExperience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, including installation/connectionWorking knowledge of CAT 5 and CAT 6 cable, connectors and demonstrated capability of fabricating required equipmentKnowledge of fiber, servers, routers, edge switches and desktop hardwareExperience using Remedy, Visio, and MS OfficeYour recruiter will be happy to walk you through your U.S.-specific benefits, which include:Healthcare Coverage: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.Time Off and Leave Policies: Generous paid time off (PTO), paid company holidays, generous parental and family leave.Protective Insurances: Life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, and accident protection.Compensation and Rewards: Competitive salary structures, performance-based incentives, and merit-based compensation reviews.Retirement Plans: 401(k) plans with company matching.Please note that benefits may vary by region, department and role.
