TPZP is seeking a Field Engineer for the project office in Fresno, CAAbout California High Speed Rail- CP1Extraordinary Projects, Exceptional PerformanceThe California High-Speed Rail Authority’s Construction Package 1 (CP1) is the first significant construction contract executed on the Initial Operating Section of the High-Speed Rail project in California’s Central Valley.The CP1 construction area is a 32-mile stretch between Avenue 19 in Madera County to East American Avenue in Fresno County, including major work elements in downtown Fresno. It includes 12 roadway / railroad grade separations, two mainline viaducts, one tunnel, realignments of existing railroad tracks, utility relocations, roadway relocations, two trench sections, and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River.Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional TalentDescriptionAs a Field Engineer at TPZP JV, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:Review project plans and develops a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities.Coordinate with subcontractors on advanced material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverablesDevelops/ assist with obtaining quotes and draft contracts to meet project requirements.Prepare construction work plan packages and coordinates pre-construction meetings while ensuring that all prerequisites to start construction activities are identified and completed.Prepare, updates and distributes work activity schedules/updates, and communicates across discipline groups and agencies to ensure proper advance notifications and coordination of start times.Monitor and participates daily in field construction process. Provides layout checks and technical reviews of work against requirements. Obtains confirmations from design engineer as neededAssist with subcontract administration and permanent material suppliers through monitoring of correspondence, submittals, RFI's, and performance records; Maintains accurate payment records.Assist in preparing monthly reporting for progress payments, schedule updates, and problem/issue tracking and resolution. Provides accurate and factual assessments of project performance.Participate in change orders and claims managementDevelop and manages relationships with owners, subcontractors, consultants and field personnelMaintains a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures.Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with high standards of workplace safety and construction best practicesIdentify and resolves changing site conditions or other impacts during planning of the workCoordinate and attends pre-bid and construction meetingsDevelop quality checks and coordinate permits from appropriate entitiesAssist in preparing crossing applications and work plans, assuring quality control, etc. by subcontractorManage and submits project close-out in coordination with the client and third partiesRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution5 or more years of construction experience on Heavy Civil projects Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements.Project controls techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating, forecasting, and contracts)A strong working knowledge of critical path method, resource scheduling is preferred.Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft OfficeStrong organizational and time management skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.Strong work ethic - Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right.The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Working knowledge and experience with Primavera P6 preferred.OUR MISSIONWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.OUR VISIONWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
